Katherine Josephine "Katy Joe" Carter Morgan, age 96, of Crossett, AR passed away on November 22, 2015.  She was born on July 15, 1919 in Crossett, AR to her parents, Oscar Lee and Maudie Belle Smith Carter. She will be greatly missed by many. She is remembered by those who knew her as a gentle, soft spoken lady with the sweetest smile and infectious laugh.  Katy Joe loved her family fiercely and was a loyal daughter, loving wife, wonderful mother, favorite aunt and the best Mommow ever. She was a Christian and taught her family to love God and to pray by example.  She was a long time member of Magnolia Baptist Church.  Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Knighton Morgan; daughter-in-law, Peggy Danley Morgan; four sisters, Verna Lee Morgan, Dorothy Deal, Sibyl Berry and Billie Baxter Fisher.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth Bruce Morgan (Joy) of Ashdown, AR; one daughter, Martha Jo Holland (Dean) of Crossett, AR ; seven grandchildren, Denim Ervin (Roy) of Avery, TX, Kevin Morgan (Dawn) of Salem, West Virginia, Debora Jones (Tony) of Ashdown, AR, Kenon Morgan (Cindy), of Ashdown, AR, Korey Morgan (Ginger) of Central, AR, Matthew Holland (Angel) of Farmington, AR, Corbett Holland of Ashdown, AR; twenty-four great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Magnolia Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Griffith officiating.  A private family interment will be held at Morgan Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR.  (www.jonesservice.com)
