I will never forget traipsing around Europe with Grandmother. She was a real trooper and we had a lot of laughs. She didnt mind arguing with a spainard or a German if she took a mind to---regardless of any language barrier. Last time I saw her was when Scottie was about to graduate. We had a great conversation and shared some laughs. Lois was a great lady and will be missed.

So sorry to here of the loss of your mom, Erlene. Thinking of you.

Riley and Lois were some of my parents best friends and camping buddies as well as kin. May God comfort her family.

What sweet memories I have of your mother and all of you from my earliest years. We were all like one family. I spent many hours in your home and those times are precious to me. Lois and Riley treated me like one of their own. My childhood memories are special to me, but I have as many in my adult life. Lois was so faithful to our church family. Some of my fondest memories are of WCG trips we took. She, my mother (Atha Lee), Marie Courtney, and your Aunt Maxine were always fun and an inspiration to the younger women. They were great women of faith and wonderful examples to us. Heaven rejoiced Friday morning when Lois Erlene Taunton entered those gates, greeted by your daddy, Mama and Papa Gates and all her loved ones waiting there. And our Savior, Jesus, arms outstretched, welcoming her home. Our loss is heaven's gain. I loved her and I love you all.
May God's love and peace surround you.
