I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that God is not the cause of this sadness. But He WILL soon fix it. Soon He will fulfill the promise made to us in John 5:28&29, and Revelation 21:3&4. I sincerely hope you find comfort in these scriptures about our future here in Earth...Jw.org

Linda and Mark
It is with great sadness that I post this condolence. Aunt Dorothy was such a fun person to spend time with and most of the times we returned to Crossett she was there with the rest of our family. I am so sorry for your loss. She will be greatly missed by all and especially by the Miller family.
As the last sibling to pass from all our family it seems an additional loss as there is a door that is now closed. It is of great comfort that we will again meet at the gates of heaven. Sending or love and praying for you to be comforted in the loss of your mother.

When I pulled this window up to type, I thought I would just offer my condolences. Simple, yes, or so it seems.

In reality, I don't even know where to start. Aunt Dorothy was the last living sibling of my grandmother Allene Robinson, and it always felt like as long as Aunt Dorothy were around, Grandma would be in some way, too. Losing Aunt Dorothy feels like a door has closed that will never open again, and I hope our family doesn't allow that to happen.

Kind, beautiful spirits like Dorothy Orr would not want us to stop seeing each other, having family reunions and staying in touch. No matter how many different directions we go in, we should always make time to get together, and when we do, let's remember to talk to each other and to share stories and to make an effort to be part of each other's lives. Sit with other families, take pictures, love on the grandkids, enjoy your food and laugh as much as possible. Aunt Dorothy would want it that way. I know she would. She always seemed like someone who appreciated the time we had together and never got so tied up in the stress of life that she lost sight of the beauty of it. If we were all more like her, maybe we would make more of an effort to nurture those family roots. I know Aunt Dorothy - and all the other Miller siblings - would have wanted us to all stay together and know each other. There is quickly coming a generation when that will not be so. What a shame that will be, at least in my opinion. We have a pretty great family!

So this ended up being more stream of conscientiousness than an actual condolence, but I suppose it's really more of a tribute. In your time of sadness and tears, there are memories of lots of laughs and love and a family that had people like Aunt Dorothy holding it together. As we acknowledge her passing, I choose to celebrate the person she was rather than mourn the person who is no longer with us. She put her time in on this Earth, and we are all better, even if just in some small way, for having known her.
