William "Billy" R. Carter

William “Billy” Ralph Carter, age 88, of The Woodlands, TX, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019.  He was born in Crossett, AR to Ben S. and Emma A. Geddie Carter on June 6, 1931.  He was a pastor and of the Baptist faith.  He loved meeting people.  He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Scott Carter; three brothers, Conrad, Lewis and Ben Carter and two sisters, Elaine and Norma Carter.

He is survived by his wife of  64 years, Shirley  Carter of The Woodlands, TX; two sons, William Phillip Carter (Joanne) of Magnolia, TX and Todd Geddie Carter (Kerri) of Olive Branch, MS; one daughter, Sharon Lea Moore (Steven) of Pryor, OK; seven grandchildren, Peyton Carter (Dana) of Magnolia, TX, Lacey Butler (Ernest) of Spring, TX, Hannah Wheeler (Gary) of Yukon, OK, Jonathan Moore (Terra) of Forgan, OK, Landon Stanley of West Monroe, LA and Nathan Carter of Olive Branch, MS and Matthew Moore (Helen) of Chouteau, OK; fourteen great grandchildren, Norah, Ollie, Ethan, Levi, Sean, Grant, Carter, Allison, Ellah, Tempie, Madilyn, Hadley, Lillian, Eliza, along with a host of friends and loved ones.

Funeral services are at 2:00PM on Friday, November 29, 2019 at Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Selby officiating.  Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery in Crossett, AR.  Pallbearers are Jonathan Moore, Peyton Carter, Matthew Moore, Ernest Butler, Gary Wheeler and Landon Stanley.  Honorary pallbearer is Nathan Carter.  Visitation is Thursday, November 28, 2019 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.
