Robert “Bobby” Glen Meeks, age 85 and lifelong resident of Crossett, AR, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021. He was born on June 10, 1935 to John Lewie and Hazel Woods Meeks.
His uncle, Jr. Meeks, inspired him in owning his own business, Bobby Meeks Used Cars in North Crossett. Bobby was passionate of boats and cars, making sure that he always had the fastest ones. He collected old coins and antique vehicles. He loved camping and going to the beach since he lived directly across from the beach with his parents when they were still living. He also learned to fly planes. He was a jokester and was always pulling pranks.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Hazel Meeks; an infant son, Robert Glen Meeks, Jr. and two brothers, Mike and Fred Meeks; one aunt, who was like a mother to him, Myrtle Croswell and a cousin who was like a sister to him, Norma Jean Lucas.
Left to cherish his memory are seven children, Steve White (Sharon) of Monticello, AR, Stan White (Karen) of Hamburg, AR, Ann Rickman of Crossett, AR, Felicia Jones (Steve) of Hot Springs, AR, Melissa Nix (Mike), Heath Meeks and Michelle Meeks, all of Crossett, AR; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; three nieces and several great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin McDaniel officiating. Pallbearers are Jeffrey Taylor, Russ Meeks, Tristan Hinton, Gunner Jones, Jerrick Rickman and Ryan Brantley.
Visitation will follow the service at the cemetery.
