Nancy (Wesson) Smith

Nancy Wesson Smith, age 85, of Crossett, AR, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Somerset Nursing Center.  Gordon and Jon Strong, the loves of her life, were at her bedside for the last week of her life.

Nancy was a native of Crossett and grew up on Cedar Street.  She moved to Texas in 1973.  Nancy then met her soul mate and best friend, John Smith.  She met John at Plymouth Park Baptist Church.  She was heartbroken when John passed away in January 2020.
Nancy loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally.  You knew that if you needed a word of encouragement, you could always call Nana.  She loved to eat out with her friends and loved to attend all church services.  Nancy loved to read the Holy Bible to anyone that would listen.  She wanted everyone she loved to be headed in the right direction.  When you went to Nana’s, you knew she would pull out the camera for picture time.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; Robert Wesson and Jerolene Brockwell Jones; one sister, Norma Wesson Hollis; one sister-in-law, Melba Wesson and her love, John Smith (Jan. 2020).

Her memory and spiritual guidance will be cherished forever by her loved ones, one brother, Dan Wesson of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Gordon Strong (Mendy) and Jon Strong, both of Crossett, AR; her step children, Bregg Smith of Colorado, Curtis Smith (Tawni) of St. Joe, TX and Allison Smith Lin (Jeff) of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren, Aaron Strong, Jason Strong, Tiffany Robinson (Josh), Landry Strong (Audry), Lindsey Ables (Wes), Jarred Strong and Colby Strong; eight great grandchildren, Paxton, Caleb, Paysen, Pyper, Journey, Gaige, Cole and Colten.

Graveside services will be 2:00PM on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Pinewood Memorial Park in Crossett, AR with Bro. Keith Boseman officiating.  Pallbearers are Landry Strong, Aaron Strong, Jason Strong, Paxton Strong, Colby Strong, Jarred Strong and Wes Ables.
