Margaret Ellen Parnell, age 83 of Crossett, Arkansas, passed away on November 7, 2021. She was born in Plymouth, NC on November 8, 1937 to George Delma and Oner Bee Harris. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she loved helping others, especially at Christmas when she would deliver gifts to people in need. She has taught tap, ballet and jazzercise classes. Margaret owned two Cato stores in Crossett and Bastrop. She became the district manager of fourteen Cato stores in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. She was caregiver for her mother-in-law and father. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, who could do no wrong in her eyes.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Luke Parnell and one sister, Elsie Tyler.
Her memory will be cherished by her son, Randy Parnell of Crossett, AR; two daughters, Vicki Wickliffe (Vern) of Hot Springs Village, AR and Rhonda Johnson of Crossett, AR; nine grandchildren, Tammy Leach, Tracy Parnell, Brad Tyler, Brian Tyler, Kara Neihouse, Troy Wickliffe, Kimberly Tyler, Lacey Parnell and Luke Parnell along with many great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Jones Funeral Home in Crossett, AR at 10:00AM on Saturday, November 13, 2021 with Dr. Vern Wickliffe officiating. Pallbearers are Brian Tyler, Brad Tyler, Troy Wickliffe, Wade Neihouse, Alan Johnson and Donald Wayne Johnson. Interment is in Crossroads Cemetery.
Visitation will precede the service beginning at 9:30AM.
