Larry Thompson Obituary

Larry White Thompson was a kind, loving, Christian man.  While he was a good husband, father, and friend, the thing he valued most was his relationship with his creator. As far back as I can remember, he started every day by reading his Bible (usually Proverbs) and praying. He would come to the Lord asking for a blessing for all of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

A perfect example of his commitment to his relationship with God was the time he spent in nature fishing or deer hunting.  In the boat or on a stand he preferred enjoying the silence, peace and natural beauty. He would read from the Gideon's Bible he kept in his tacklebox or hunting jacket.  He told me that this was some of the best time he spent with the Lord. Also, he liked to conserve energy even when engaging in recreational outdoor sports. So reading his Bible insured he wouldn't catch a fish he would have to clean or harvest a deer he would have to dress.

He will be dearly missed by friends and family alike, but we rest in the knowledge that he resides in Glory with his wife of 40 years on this earth and sings the praises to and in the presence of his heavenly Father.  Rest in peace. Rest in power.  You finished the race.  Well done thou good and faithful servant.
