Larry Goodwin

Larry T. Goodwin, age 79 of Crossett, AR, went home to his heavenly father, surrounded by his family on August 27, 2022.

He was born to his parents; R.J. Goodwin and Dorothy Roberts Goodwin on March 5, 1943.  He was a lifelong resident of Crossett and a member of South Main Baptist Church, a cowboy, and worked for Georgia Pacific for over forty years.  He enjoyed hunting, training squirrel dogs,  gardening, sharing his vegetables with anyone who needed them, and also enjoyed watching his flowers and roses grow.

His true passion was riding horses.  He also enjoyed training and riding cutting and team penning horses.  You could often find him trail riding as well.  He taught many to ride and helped them find the right horse.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.J. and Dorothy Roberts Goodwin; one sister, Faye Kelley; one niece, Terry Withers, all of Crossett.

Larry is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Colene Goodwin of Crossett, AR; three daughters, Amy Lee (Chris) of Hot Springs, AR, Angela White (Jerry) of Hot Springs, AR, and Aundrea Pearson (Mitchell) of Crossett, AR; four grandchildren, Jacob Lee (Alison), Brina Johnson (Lee), Emilee Gwin (Steve) and Cody Martin (Summer); six great grandchildren, Luke Dodson, Carsyn Martin, Kace Allen, Kaizer Johnson, Embry Lee and Nova Martin; his sister, Vanessa Rodgers (Randy) and his brother, Roddy Goodwin (Shirley).

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at South Main Baptist Church of Crossett with Bro. Roy Grantham officiating.  Pallbearers are Barry Dolan, Cody Martin, Lee Johnson, Matthew Hughes, Chris Bounds and Eric Broadaway.  Honorary Pallbearers are Royce Swain, Glen Sivils, Roy Rodgers and Jerry Boadaway.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church, from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.
