Judge Dewey Carter Jr., age 78, formerly of Crossett, has gone to be with the Lord on January 27, 2021.
Dewey was a dedicated man that loved God, his family, his friends, and his pets. He enjoyed working in his shop and in his garden. He will be remembered for making swings and picnic tables as he was jokingly known as “Swingman.” At Christmas, you may remember how he loved to be Santa Clause for kids and stopping at random houses to say Merry Christmas while dressed as Santa Clause, but he will be most remembered for his loving, caring and giving heart. He will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, and a grandson, Oliver Carter.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 60 years, Wanda Carter; two daughters, Cindy Green (Lacey) and Cathy Keene Knellinger (Larry); one son, Daniel Carter (Sarah); five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of friends and loved ones.
Graveside services will be at 11:00AM on January 30, 2021 at Crossroads Cemetery with Bro. Robin Allen officiating. Pallbearers are Cindy Green, Cathy Kenne-Knellinger, Lacey Green, Josh Keene, Corey Keene and Lydia Coleman. Honorary Pallbearers are Henry Carter, Dean Holland, Will Dickey, Freddie McKinley and Ronnie Withers.
A fifteen minute visitation will immediately follow the service at the cemetery.
A live stream of the service will be available via our Facebook page at facebook.com/jonesservice.com.2019 as cell service will permit.
