Obituary
Jessie Izora Carter, age 81 of Crossett, AR passed away on January 3, 2023. She was born on February 15, 1941 to Ernest Nathaniel and Nellie Agnus Johnson Grantham in Marvell, AR.
She was a member of Wallers Chapel United Methodist Church in Crossett, AR. Jessie enjoyed the outdoors. Her farm life kept her busy with gardening, raising cows and chickens. She loved all her animals, hunting, fishing, cooking, and family as well as extended family gatherings.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband of over forty years, Billy Nute Carter; three children, one unnamed, Sharon Cook, and Reggie Starling; ten siblings, Flossie Paralee, Roy Cecil, Andy Murrell, Mary Frances, Jr. Ernest Nathaniel, Nellie May, Alice Christine, Juanita Maxine, Eddie Eugene, Ronnie Loyd and one granddaughter, Breeze Starling.
Her memory will live on by her eight children, Alveretta Franklin (Tom) of Central, LA, Tisha Druckenmiller (Brian) of Cabot, AR, Kirk Starling (Angie), Christal Starling (Leroy) and Rhonda Avery (Mike), all of Hamburg, AR, Billy Carter (Barbara) of Greenwood, AR, Rochelle Moss of Hot Springs, AR and Renee Carter of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Angela, Amanda, Jennifer, Thadius, Breanna, Ashley, Cody, Ashley I. and William along with a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service for Jessie Carter will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Wallers United Methodist Church with Bro. Keith Boseman and Bro. Jim Faulk officiating.
Interment is in Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home, Inc. Pallbearers are Glenn Allen Jenkins, Roy Jr. Grantham, Colvin Shivers, William Spruell, Hayden Hennington and Kody Jonio. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Jenkins, John Grantham, Gaylon Elrod, Leroy McManus and Billy Taunton.
Visitation begins one hour prior at 1:00 P.M.
