Obituary

Ms. Irma Yolanda Roberts (Portillo Becerra), 64, born on March 14, 1957 in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico passed in her Hamburg residence on October 31, 2021. Mrs. Irma, as she was lovingly known, retired from Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill and worked at Medlin’s Metal where she made lifelong friends. She was a native of Hamburg since 1989, living in Crossett and Beekman areas prior. 
 
Irma was a talented seamstress, animal lover, and prided herself in her work ethic, her home and her family. Her no nonsense attitude was admired by many, and she always enjoyed a good joke and time with family. She loved to host and cooking for anyone who visited her, her grandchildren fondly remember meals at Mima’s. As a devout Catholic she never missed an opportunity to thank God for her many blessings and share a prayer with and for anyone. 
 
She is preceded in death by her mother, Margarita Becerra de Portillo (of Chihuahua, Mexico); her sister, Martha Hernandez (of Three Creeks, Arkansas) and a nephew Richard Portillo (of Ellisville, Mississippi). 
 
She is survived and dearly missed by her father, Leonardo Portillo Balderrama of El Dorado; her children, Veronica Martinez of Crossett, AR, Manuel “Manny” Monrreal (Helen) of El Dorado, AR, Irma Yolanda Portillo of New York, and Darwin Troy “Darren” Roberts of Hamburg, AR; her grandchildren, Kerstin Margarita Mondragon (Elias) of Crossett, AR, Victor Manuel Martinez (Maria) of Crossett, AR, Oracio Guadalupe Martinez of Crossett, AR, Carmyn Marie “Carmelita” Monrreal of El Dorado, AR and her first great-grandchild Jimena Evette “Jimmie” Martinez of Crossett, AR. She is also survived by her siblings, Leonardo Portillo, Poli Portillo, Richie Portillo, Jose Portillo, Martin Portillo, Lola Elias, Maggie Goff, and Griselda Dorman and a host of nieces and nephews. 
 
Irma made a lasting impression on everyone who met her. She will be missed.
 
Funeral services are 2:00pm on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Jones Funeral Home with Father Stephen Hart officiating.  Pallbearers are Darwin Roberts, Manny Monrreal, Irma Portillo, Victor Manuel Martinez, Oracio G. Martinez and Elias Mondragon.  Honorary Pallbearers are Leonardo Portillo, Poli Portillo, Ricardo Portillo, Jose Portillo and Martin Portillo.  Interment is in Pinewood Memorial Park.
 
Visitation is at the funeral home from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, November 5, 2021.

Irma Yolanda Roberts (Portillo Becerra), 64, nacio el dia 14 de Marzo 1957 en Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico falleció en su residencia de Hamburg el 31 de octubre de 2021. La Sra. Irma, como se la conocía cariñosamente, se retiró de Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill y trabajó en Medlin's Metal, donde hizo amigos para toda la vida. Ella era nativa de Hamburg desde 1989, y anteriormente vivía en las áreas de Crossett y Beekman.
 
Irma era una costurera talentosa, amaba los animales y su orgullo siempre era su ética de trabajo, su hogar y su familia. Su actitud sincera fue admirada por muchos, y ella siempre disfrutó de una buena broma y de pasar tiempo con la familia. Le encantaba tener visita y cocinar para cualquiera que la visitara, sus nietos recuerdan con cariño las comidas en la casa de su Mima. Como católica devota, nunca perdió la oportunidad de agradecerle a Dios por sus muchas bendiciones y compartir una oración con y por todos.
 
Le precedieron en la muerte su madre, Margarita Becerra de Portillo (de Chihuahua, México), su hermana, Martha Hernández (de Three Creeks, Arkansas) y un sobrino Richard Portillo (de Ellisville, Mississippi). Le sobreviven y la extrañaran mucho su padre, Leonardo Portillo Balderrama de El Dorado, AR, sus hijos, Veronica Martinez de Crossett, AR, Manuel “Manny” Monrreal (Helen) de El Dorado, AR, Irma Portillo Yolanda de Nueva York y Darwin Troy “Darren” Roberts de Hamburg, AR, sus nietos, Kerstin Margarita Mondragon (Elias) de Crossett, AR, Victor Manuel Martinez (Maria) de Crossett, AR, Oracio Guadalupe Martinez de Crossett, AR, Carmyn Marie “Carmelita” Monrreal de El Dorado, AR y su primer bisnieta Jimena Evette “Jimmie” Martinez de Crossett, AR. También le sobreviven sus hermanos, Leonardo Portillo, Poli Portillo, Richie Portillo, José Portillo, Martín Portillo, Lola Elias, Maggie Goff y Griselda Dorman y una gran cantidad de sobrinas y sobrinos.
 
Irma dejó una impresión duradera en todos los que la conocieron. Ella será extrañada.
