Arthur Glenn “Coach” Myers, age 69 of Hamburg, AR, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022. He was born in Crossett, AR to John Jacob and Joyce Hethcox Myers on October 25, 1952. He was a teacher and coached track and cross country track in Hamburg, AR and Warren, AR for twenty-seven years. Coach was responsible for bringing the Hershey Track Meets to Hamburg. He was an investment banker for nine years in Little Rock, AR and Boca Raton, FL but returned to coaching because the kids were where his heart was.
He was a collector of all sports memorabilia. He loved to watch football and baseball, especially the New York Yankees. Coach enjoyed playing his guitars and listening to music. He enjoyed life and found the good in every person and in every thing. He enjoyed his family for the past nine years and was so very thankful for them.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry Myers.
His memory will be cherished by his foster daughter, Stacy Hearnsberger; uncle, Larry Hethcox; aunt, Joan Myers; first cousins, Terry Ray Hearnsberger, Kerry Jay Hearnsberger, and Berry Vay Hearnsberger; cousins, Patsy Irvine Crouse and Jack Irvine; former wife, Carmella Myers Canfield and the children he raised and adored for the last nine years of his life, Carson Rainey, Beau Rainey, Bobby Rainey and Charley Rainey along with everyone he coached, taught and loved.
The Celebration of Life Service for Coach Myers will be 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Hamburg with Bro. Phillip Bowles officiating. Interment is in Hamburg Cemetery following the service under the direction of Jones Funeral Home, Inc. Pallbearers are Jason Johnson, Charlie Griever, Donald Rosen, Richard O'Neal, Kevin McDaniel and Bobby Rainey, Jr.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. at the church before the service.
