Ethel Rae Stanley Blackwell, age 91, of Crossett, AR, died at Ashley County Medical Center on March 3, 2019. She was born on April 27, 1927 to her parents, Verda (Outlaw) and Leciel Stanley.
Mrs. Blackwell had a green thumb and loved flowers of all kinds, especially roses. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Crossett and a homemaker who loved to sew. She enjoyed making clothes for her children as they grew. She liked to wear cowboy boots, enjoyed listening to Conway Twitty and dancing. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Marvin Leciel Stanley and Ralph Allen Stanley; three sisters, Judy Collins, Edith Harmon and Teresia Harris. Also preceding her in death was a son, Johnny Lavell Blankenship and two husbands, Lavell Blankenship and Edd T. Smith.
Mrs. Blackwell is survived by two sons, Michael W. Smith (Connie) of Crossett, AR and Edward L. Smith (Mary) of Miles City, MT; two daughters, Deborah C. McKeegan (John) of Las Vegas, NV and Marsha Funderburg (Rickie) of Crossett, AR; ten grandchildren, John Allen Blankenship, Jennifer Blankenship, Terryl Blankenship, Steven Smith (Lindsey), Martha Taplin (James), Nora Smith, Brian McKeegan (Crystal), Zack McKeegan (Sara), Sarah Smith, Ruth Allen, Shannon Olguin and Monica Williams (Wesley); ten great grandchildren, Alex Olquin, Nathan Olguin, Riley Stevens, Kloe Stevens, Annalee Williams, Wyatt Williams, Skyla Wood, Gabin Pimentel, Asher Smith and Steven Taplin; one brother, Billy Wayne Stanley (Mary Pat) of Crossett, AR; three sisters, Marion Duncan of Crossett, AR, Carolyn Hill of Tulsa, OK, and Gwen Gathright (Robert) of Round Rock, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews and many close friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Blackwell are on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Bro. Eric Hodge officiating. Celebration of Life service is at 2:00pm and visitation will be from 1:00pm until 2:00pm, one hour prior to the funeral service.
