Ada Ellon Johnson, age 81, of Crossett, Arkansas, passed away on March 31, 2022. She was born on March 20, 1941 to Vrelan Clyde and Edith Rickman Johnson. She was a member of Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church. She graduated from UAM with a bachelor’s degree in education. She worked as an interpreter for American Sign Language (ASL) as well as teaching sign language. Ellon loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of almost 59 years, Johnny Mack Johnson and one daughter, Sharon Diane Mason.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Greg Johnson (Amy) of Crossett, AR; two daughters, Pamela Williams (Joe) of Knoxville, TN and Angela Nix of Crossett, AR; twelve grandchildren, Regan Gardner (Jessica), Matthew Gardner, Lauren Bearden (Cody), Bradley Williams, Justin Mason (Lisa), Laraleigh Windham, Breanne Arnold, Trey Johnson (Kayla), Cole Johnson (Emily), Jacob Nix (Kelli), Tyler Nix (Erica) and Rob Nix (McKinley); a host of great-great grandchildren and two sisters, Libby Carter and Gwen Stephenson (Aubrey) and one brother, Lelan Johnson (Marie).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church with Kim Ballard and Lloyd Gibbs officiating. Interment is in Crossroads Cemetery with Ellon’s grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be at Jones Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 5:00PM until 6:00PM.
