Eleanor Farmer Obituary

Eleanor Rose Denson Farmer peacefully passed away to her eternal home on September 5, 2021.  Born in Fountain Hill, Arkansas to Zenobia Kate and Frank Denson on March 15, 1932, she grew up in a loving home with two older brothers (deceased) and her two younger sisters, Sue Denson Bays and Nancy Denson Woods.

Eleanor married Glen Stovall Farmer on March 13, 1951.  They were married 70 years and lived in Crossett, Hot Springs, and North Little Rock.  She is survived by her husband, Stovall Farmer of North Little Rock ; two daughters, Vicki Farmer Worrell (Lealon) of North Little Rock, and Sandra Farmer Lusby (Richard) of Jonesboro and six grandchildren, Meredith Worrell Shipman (Oliver), James Worrell, Kathryn Worrell Waller (Zach), Jessica Worrell (Stephen Wilson), Ted Lusby (Catherine), and John Frihart-Lusby (Rosie). She was also blessed with six great grandchildren, Layne, Evy, Brylie, Dove, Lottie, and Laura James.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John Denson and Frank Denson, and grandson, Thomas Farmer Lusby.

Eleanor was a graduate of the University of Arkansas Monticello and taught 4th and 5th grades for many years in the Crossett school district.  She was a real beauty inside and out and a very talented seamstress, making beautiful clothes and sewing each family member their very own quilt.  She loved her family very much and even put up with being a “golf widow” at times.  Especially with her daughters, Eleanor encouraged excellence in everything from grammar to behavior and could be described as humble, selfless, and witty.  She was greatly loved and appreciated by her devoted family and wonderful friends.  Eleanor had the most compassionate heart and always took up for the underdog.  She not only professed Christ as her Lord and Savior but lived an exemplary Christian life.

Special thanks to the staff at Parkstone Independent Living, Fox Ridge Assisted Living, and Lakewood Nursing.  There will be a joint Memorial Service celebrating the lives of Stovall and Eleanor Farmer on September 25th in the chapel at Jones Funeral Home in Crossett, Arkansas. The service will start at 2:00 with visitation starting at 1:30. (Masks and social distancing encouraged).
