Eddie "Pops" Rowe Obituary

Eddie "Pops" Rowe

Edward Dewayne Rowe was born January 21, 1948 to the late L.V. and Bennye Rowe in Crossett, AR.  His life here with us ended August 12, 2020 rejoicing in the fact that he was going home.  After graduating Crossett High School in 1966, he attended Ouachita Baptist University.  Following college, he began his career at Georgia Pacific where he retired after 44 years as a millwright.  During his career at Georgia Pacific, he was part of the plant’s Emergency Operation Team.  He was a Captain on West Crossett Fire Department, a Safety Officer and board member for Milo Fire Department.  He served as the Fire Service Coordinator for Ashley County, a two-term city alderman for the City of Crossett, and the Chief of war storytelling for Blue Star Consultants and Training.

Pops never met a stranger.  He loved meeting new people and visiting with anyone.  He especially enjoyed visiting with any firefighter, law enforcement officer, or EMS personnel whether he knew them or not.  He loved to cook, working on and collecting guns, listening to music, watching trains, and collecting coins.  He loved animals (even though he always said he didn’t).  He loved his wife, his family and his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, and the love of his life.  He is survived by one brother, David Paul Rowe of Monticello; his son, Michael and wife, Sheyanna of Crossett; a special daughter, Krystal Terrell of Crossett; five grandchildren, Calei, Heath, Jayda, Bentleigh, and Charlotte, and a host of fire families and friends.

He left this world happily knowing he was going home to be reunited with the ones he loved while leaving his legacy with the ones who loved him.

Funeral services are 11:00AM on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Beulahland Assembly of God Church with Bro. Keith Rose and Bro.
