Charles Edward Barnett, age 88 of Crossett, AR, passed away on September 25, 2021. He was born on December 9, 1932 in Hamburg, AR to Bryan and Ollie Barnett. He was a member of Wallers Chapel Methodist Church. He served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army. He was a construction worker and a carpenter supervisor for Ideal Construction and Brown and Root.
Charles enjoyed wood working, hunting, gardening, spending time with his family and making biscuits.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Oral, Robert and Glen Barnett; two sisters, Allene Christy and Opal Chapman and two grandchildren, David Nelson and Tabitha Jeannette Barnett.
His memory will forever be cherished by his wife of 68 years, Maycel Jenkins Barnett; one daughter, Karen Nelson (Garland) of Scottsboro, AL; two sons, Charles K. Barnett (Patricia) and Tim Bryan Barnett (Kathy), all of Hamburg, AR; one sister, Lucille Beirbaumn of Hamburg, AR; six grandchildren, Stephanie Lee (Russell) of Falkville, AL, James Barnett (Amy) of Pea Ridge, AR, Mary Kate Sumner (Eric) of El Dorado, AR, Robert Barnett, Nicholus Barnett and Emily Hale, both of Hamburg, AR; eleven great grandchildren, Courtney Lamb, Shelby Compton (Jake), Ava Nelson, Kelsey Lee, Jaxon Lee, Riddick Hale, Lyra Hale, Emmett Sumner, Stella Lamb, Bella Lamb and soon to be born, Maverick Compton along with a host of friends and loved ones.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm at Jones Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 with Bro. Jim Faulk officiating. Pallbearers are James Barnett, Eric Sumner, Louie Gammel, Kenneth Barnett, Dewayne Chapman, Jake Compton and John Craig. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1:00pm, one hour prior to the service.
