Bobbie Jean Causey Teague

Bobbie Jean Causey Teague age 91, of Crossett, AR passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00pm.  Jean was born in New Edinburg, AR on May 10, 1928.  She was a devout Christian and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Crossett for over 65 years.  She taught 5th grade students 20 ½ years at North Crossett Elementary School.  She earned her degree in education at UAM and went on to earn her master’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Alma Ellen Childress; one brother, John Childress; first husband, M.R. Causey, Jr.; one daughter, Rebecca Ann Causey and second husband, Charlie F. Teague.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ellen “Liz” Causey; adopted daughter, Martha Horn; sister-in-law, Mildred Childress Miller and niece, Tami Childress Phillips.  Jean will be remembered for her devotion to her Lord and her family, her beautiful soprano voice in the church choirs, the unconditional love and generosity to her family friends, church, community, students and neighbors and the love and respect she had for everyone of all races.  She will be remembered as one of the best cooks that Crossett has ever seen.  She had an amazing admiration and wonderment of nature and animals.  This charismatic, dynamic lady and her positive approach to life has left an impression on so many and impacted us all.  This is her legacy.  When she left us to walk into the arms of Jesus, her daughters, Liz and Martha were at her side.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Crossett with Greg Bennett officiating.  Interment is in Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home, Inc.  Pallbearers are members of FBC.   Visitation begins at 9:30am one hour prior to the service.
