Major William Robert Marks, age 87, of Crossett, AR passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. He was born on July 25, 1931 to Robert H. and Fannie Harbison Marks. William adored his family and the Arkansas Razorbacks. He enjoyed flying after he received his private pilot license. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He served in the Vietnam Conflict and received numerous military decorations including the Bronze Star. His time in the military afforded him and his family the opportunity to live all over the United States and the world. After his time in the military, he worked for 25 years for Georgia Pacific.
Major Marks is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Marks; two daughters, Kathryn Bush (Michael) of Orlando, FL and Patricia Lovett of Crossett, AR; four grandchildren, Joanna Smith, Dana Abney, Douglas Bush and Leslie Lauhon; five great-grandchildren and a host of friends and loved ones.
Funeral services are at 2:00pm on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Jones Funeral Home, Inc. with Jerry Martin officiating and The United States Air Force Honor Guard. Visitation will be one hour prior, at 1:00pm. Interment is in Oak Grove Cemetery on Saturday, March 30th in Chambersville, AR at 10:00am.
