Allene Moore

Lillie Allene Moore, age 88, of Crossett, AR, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Lagniappe Health Care in Bastrop, LA.  She was born on August 24, 1930 in Fountain Hill, AR to Preston Monroe and Lillie Belle Oden Pennington.  She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she taught Ladies’ Sunday School for many years and early on was the church pianist and G.A. Director.  In her working years, Allene retired from Harold Jarvis Insurance Agency where she worked as a secretary.  She enjoyed traveling, working crossword and fill-in puzzles, family gatherings and eating with “The Lunch Bunch” at Country Vittles. 

Allene Moore is preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Lillie Pennington; her husband, James Dall Moore; an infant son, James Ronald Moore; one sister, Merlee Blake; and her daughter-in-law, Leah Diane Moore.

She is survived by two sons, Shelby Moore of Bastrop, LA and Rick Moore (Carol) of Maumelle, AR; one daughter, Shelia Moore of Crossett, AR; two sisters, Shirley Cummins of Crossett, AR and Remona Westbrook (Raymond) of Bastrop, LA; four grandchildren, Brett Moore (Shelley), Justin Moore (Micki), Anna Moore and Madelyn Moore; four great grandchildren, Jordan Moore, Callie Moore, Noelle Moore and Dawson Moore along with a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services for Allene Moore will be at 2:00pm at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Crossett on Tuesday, August 20^th with visitation from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the church.  Bro. Eric Hodge and Brett Moore are officiating.  Interment is in Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home, Inc.
