Mary Wilnenda (Nenda) Measel Burchfield, age 67, passed away on September 22, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer.  She was born January 10, 1950 to her parents Charles D. and Betty S. Knowles Measel in Warren, Arkansas.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Herbert Burchfield on November 14, 2014 , her father in law, Leroy (Tiny) Burchfield and her mother in law Opal Savage Burchfield.  Nenda and James were married December 16, 1974 in Crossett, Arkansas.

She loved Crossett and the Ouachita River.  She was appointed by Gov. Mike Huchabee to the newly formed Ouachita River Commission and also served on the Crossett Port Authority and the Crossett Chamber of Commerce where she was named Outstanding Board Member.

Nenda loved to hunt, fish and trap with her husband.  She loved children and though having none of her own she was partial to her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her brother, Kent Measel and wife Nancy of Jersey, AR, children Bart Measel and his sons Austin and Gavin, Mistie McGhee and husband David, children Madison and Alan.  Eric Corker and wife Jamie and their daughter, Ericca.  Her sister Debbie and husband Steve Jones of West Monroe, LA, their children, Jenny Wheelis, husband Lee, sons Connor and Luke, Sandy Massey and husband Daniel and children Caden, Alex, Jason and Madilynn, Scott Jones and wife Molly and children, Landry, Fisher and Carsyn, and Jared Jones.  Extended family T.J. Hollis.

The service will be held onTuesday, September 26 at the First United Methodist Church in Crossett, AR at 10:30 a.m. with visitation to begin at 10:00 a.m. before the service.  Interment to follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR.
