John H. “Grit” Robertson, age 89, of Crossett, AR passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Stonegate Villa Health & Rehab.  He was born in Hamburg, AR on April 7, 1926 to his parents, Lillian Foote Erwin and James Robertson. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Gloria “Polly” Toney Robertson; a son, John W. “Snap” Robertson; a brother, Jimmy Robertson and his parents.

Mr. Robertson was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church of Crossett; He was a veteran of United States Army Air Force, a retired auditor of Ashley, Drew and Northern Railroad and a Mason.  Mr. Robertson was founder and owner of family business Robertson’s Outboard Service.  He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by a daughter, Toney Harrington and husband, Joe; a granddaughter, Kelli Edgar Sivils and husband, Chris; four grandsons, Adam Edgar and wife, Kandace, all of Crossett, AR, Chad Robertson of Sterlington, LA, Justin Harrington and wife, Kendra of Hot Springs, AR, Jarrod Harrington of Crossett, AR and great-grandchildren, Blake Morgan, Colt Sivils, Michael Edgar, Kimrey Edgar, Madison and Gabriel Harrington, Bentley Harrington, Caleb and Addison Rowlett.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Pinewood Memorial Park with Dr. Russell Moore officiating under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR.  (www.jonesservice.com)
