James Edward Hendrix, age 82, of Crossett, AR passed away on September 8, 2016.  He was born on January 17, 1934 in Strong, AR to his parents, James Clyde and Mary Lee Gilmore Hendrix.  Mr. Hendrix worked at the Central Stores for Georgia Pacific.  He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, playing with his dog, Winston and getting together with High School Classmates once a month.  He was an avid Razorback fan.  Mr. Hendrix was a member of South Main Baptist Church and enjoyed regular attendance.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carla Ann Hendrix and a sister, Jeanette Brown.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Maxine Hendrix of Crossett, AR; a son, Jim Hendrix (Jimmie Ann) of Camden, AR; three step-grandchildren,  Mike Carpenter of Crossett, AR, Barbie Townsend (Billy), Jamie Wallesch, all of Little Rock, AR; three great-grandchildren, Jesse Harrington, Adam Townsend, Luke Wallesch and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at South Main Baptist Church with Bro. Lyle Hern officiating.  Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR.  (www.jonesservice.com)

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at South Main Baptist Church.
