Hazel Belle Youngblood Edwards passed away on April 26, 2016 at Stonegate Villa Health & Rehab.  She was born in Florence, Drew County, Arkansas to her parents, Ernest Rascoe Youngblood and Allie Mize Youngblood. During WWll, she worked in an ammunition plant in Indiana. ln November of 1946, Hazel moved to Crossett to begin her career as a dental assistant and she lived at the Rose lnn. On February 8, 1947, Hazel met Billy Jack Edwards on a blind date and they were married on September 20, 1947. They were married for 63 years until his death in 2010.  Hazel worked as a dental assistant for many years for Dr. Lane A Miller, DDS.  After she retired, Hazel enjoyed hand quilting, working on her family history, and also did some babysitting. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Crossett for over 60 years.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack Edwards; her parents, Rascoe and Allie Youngblood; her sisters and brothers - Mary Lorrayne Youngblood Mullis, James Fitzhugh Youngblood, Julia Nell Youngblood Strickland, Ernest Rascoe Youngblood Jr., Lester Adam Youngblood, and a great-grandson, Tanner Darbonne.  

She is survived by her four children - Richard A. Edwards (Ruth), Ernest H. Edwards (Dianne), Billy W. Edwards (Annette) and Kimle A. Edwards; four grandchildren - Todd Edwards, Angelina Edwards Darbonne, Selena Edwards Carraway and lan Ashcraft; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dottie Youngblood; and nieces and nephews, Sammy Joe Mullis, Judy Mullis Clower, Charles Strickland, Pamela Strickland, Leslie Youngblood Krause and Paula Youngblood Mohica.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR.  (www.jonesservice.com)

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Jones Funeral Home.
