Harold Laron Burke, age 76, of Crossett, AR, passed away on April 22, 2016.  He was born on September 9, 1939 to his parents, Joseph Phinous and Verlie Hayes Burke in Monticello, AR.  Laron and his wife owned and operated V & P Grocery for over 50 years, where they loved catering and processing deer meat.  He enjoyed working with horses, hunting, going on mission trips while he attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church, staying busy and spending time with his family and grandchildren.  Mr. Burke was a member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school at the Pillars.  Laron was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 53 years, Colen Burke.

Survivors include a son, Britt Burke (Shana) of Haughton, LA; a daughter, Nicole Rice (Billy) of Crossett, AR; six grandchildren, B. J. Rice, Jordan Rice (Lakin), Kelsey Rice, Brittnie Creel, Kenneth Richard (Kara Williams) and Heather Cruz (Jake Lawler); eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the First Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Pennington and Bro. Emil Turner officiating.  Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR.  (www.jonesservice.com)
