Edward Lester Walser, age 97, of Crossett, AR passed away on June 12, 2016.  He was born in Hamburg, AR on March 11, 1919 to his parents, William Byron and Mary Sula Anders Walser.  Mr. Walser was a pipefitter for Georgia Pacific and a Sergeant for the Marine Corps, having served in the South Pacific during World War II.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.  Mr. Walser was a member of the First Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Juanita Walser of Crossett, AR; one son, Dennis Walser (Lena) of Bentonville, AR; one daughter, Alice Schneider (Martin) of Cabot, AR; one grandson, Dr. Brandon Walser (Rachel) of Little Rock, AR; two great-grandchildren, Claire and Lucy Walser; one step-grandson, David Turner and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Bro. Jamie Staley officiating.  Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR.  (www.jonesservice.com)

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
